Amex US has just released new excellent offers on the American Express US Marriott Bonvoy Bevy Card and the American Express US Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Card, worth up to 185,000 points.
These new offers come in addition to the existing outstanding offer on the American Express US Marriott Bonvoy Business Card for five Free Night Awards worth 50,000 points each.
If you’ve been holding out on applying for a new US-issued Marriott Bonvoy co-branded credit card, be sure to give these offers a look.
Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant Card: 185,000 Bonvoy Points!
This time, there’s a new record-high offer on the Amex US Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Card, which is a premium personal co-branded credit card.
If eligible, you’ll earn an astonishing 185,000 Marriott Bonvoy points upon spending $6,000 (USD) in the first six months as a cardholder with the new welcome bonus.
It’s worth noting that this offer doesn’t appear to be available through referral links at this time.
In comparison to historical offers on this card, we’ve recently seen offers for 150,000 points and an additional Free Night Award worth 85,000 points, as well as for 150,000 points plus an additional 50,000 points upon completing five paid stays. However, in terms of a single swath of points, the current offer is the best we’ve seen so far.
We value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.6 cents per point (USD), and using this, we’d peg a value of $1,110 (USD) on the welcome bonus alone.
In terms of earning rates, the Bonvoy Brilliant offers the following:
- 6 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at Marriott hotels
- 3 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at US restaurants and airlines
- 2 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent on everything else
The card comes with an annual fee of $650, which is quite easily justified due to the current welcome bonus, as well as the card’s ongoing slew of benefits.
By just being a cardholder, you’ll enjoy Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status, and all the perks that come along with it, including free breakfast, early check-in, late check-out, upgrades, and more.
Each year, you’ll also get a Free Night Award worth 85,000 points, which you can then top up with 15,000 points for a higher-priced stay. You can then earn another Free Night Award worth 85,000 points upon spending $60,000 in a calendar year, and then selecting it as your Earned Choice Award.
If you tend to dine out quite often, the card also comes with monthly $25 dining credits, which can be used at restaurants worldwide.
And as if that weren’t enough, the Bonvoy Brilliant also rewards you with a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership with unlimited access for yourself and two guests – a stronger guest policy than any credit card you’d find in Canada.
When you put the above perks together, you’ll see why the Bonvoy Brilliant can be such a powerful credit card to hold onto for the long term, year after year.
If you’re eligible for the welcome bonus, be sure to apply before May 1, 2024, which is when it’s set to expire.
Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card: 155,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points!
As for the Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card, which is a bit of a step down from the Bonvoy Brilliant Card in terms of ongoing perks and benefits, there’s a new welcome bonus that’s absolutely worth considering, especially if you’d eventually like to have the Bonvoy Brilliant as a keeper card.
The card currently has a welcome bonus of 155,000 Marriott Bonvoy points upon spending $5,000 (USD) in the first six months.
This is the best-ever offer on this particular card, with the most recent offer being for up to 85,000 points, and previous highs for up to 125,000 points.
With our valuation of Bonvoy points at 0.6 cents per point (USD), we’d value the current welcome bonus at $930 (USD).
In terms of earning rates, the Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card offers the following:
- 6 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at Marriott hotels
- 4 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at restaurants worldwide and US supermarkets
- 2 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent on everything else
The Amex US Bonvoy Bevy has a lower annual fee of $250, and comes with fewer meaningful perks as a result.
However, if you’re able to spend $15,000 on the card in a calendar year, you’ll earn a Free Night Award worth up to 50,000 points. That works out to be an average of $1,250 per month, which isn’t an unreasonable amount; however, your day-to-day spending may be better targeted elsewhere.
Recently, Amex US put in “family language” restrictions on the Amex US Marriott Bonvoy Bevy Card. This means that you may not be eligible for a welcome bonus on the Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card if you’ve ever held the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant Card.
Therefore, if you have your eyes set on the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant Card as a long-term keeper card, your best bet may be to take advantage of this best-ever welcome bonus on the Bonvoy Bevy Card first, and then work your way up to the Bonvoy Brilliant Card further down the line.
As with the Brilliant, this offer is set to expire on May 1, 2024.
Amex US Bonvoy Business Card: Five Free Night Awards!
As a reminder, there’s currently an excellent offer on the Amex US Bonvoy Business Card, which is the sole Marriott co-branded credit card geared towards small business owners in the US.
Until March 20, 2024, new applicants are eligible for a welcome bonus of five Free Night Awards worth 50,000 points apiece!
Keep in mind that you can top up the Free Night Awards with up to 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, which makes each one eligible for redemptions of up to 65,000 points total.
To unlock the welcome bonus, you’ll need to make $8,000 (USD) in eligible purchases within the first six months as a cardholder, which averages out to $1,333 per month.
In terms of regular earning rates, the Amex US Bonvoy Business Card offers the following:
- 6 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at Marriott hotels
- 4 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at US restaurants, gas stations, wireless telephone purchases, and shipping
- 2 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent on everything else
Compared to the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant, which comes with numerous perks and a $650 annual fee, the Amex US Bonvoy Business has a much lower annual fee of $125, and its accompanying perks and benefits are also weaker.
However, you’ll get an anniversary Free Night Award worth up to 35,000 Bonvoy points, which is on par with the anniversary certificate offered by the Canadian-issued Amex Bonvoy Card and Amex Bonvoy Business Card.
After earning this lucrative welcome bonus, you can keep it around as a long-term keeper card, due to its relatively low annual fee and the annual Free Night Award.
Plus, you’ll earn 15 elite qualifying nights per year, which can be stacked with another 15 from the Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card or 25 from the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant Card.
If you’re interested in this offer, be sure to apply before March 20, 2024, which is when it’s set to expire.
