Pauline Frommer, of Frommer’s Guidebooks, wants people to travel in a way that will change their lives.
During the February 17 and February 18 Travel & Adventure Show, she’ll discuss life-enhancing vacations that won’t break the bank.
“I talk about the mindsets that should underlay travel and nitty gritty information to help people travel more conveniently and less expensive,” she says.
“I don’t mean only backpacker style. If you want luxury, there are ways to get that without paying too much. I try to teach the methods of not overpaying.”
Debuting in Phoenix, the Travel & Adventure Show offers opportunities to discover and book trips in the new year, thanks to the nearly 500 destinations, hotels, cruises and tour operators ready to share special deals and promotional prices to help attendees plan for smart and easy travel.
Attendees at the Phoenix show can hear an informative lineup of speakers at this year’s show, including a talk by actor Andrew McCarthy, who is now a travel expert.
Other speakers include CBS News travel editor Peter Greenberg and Patricia Schultz. Guests can take home mementos courtesy of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma’s green screen photo booth.
“As our newest city location, we are excited to immerse Phoenix travelers into the show for the first time to help inspire and inform their 2024 travels, while helping them save big through our expert lineup of talent and vendors,” says John Golicz, CEO of Unicomm LLC, the show’s producer.
“Inflation is hitting travelers,” Frommer says. “Hotel costs are skyrocketing. Airfare seems to be plateauing or seeming to go down. It’s more important than ever to save money when you travel.
“We came out with an in-depth study about which search engines consistently find the lowest prices for airfares. Surprisingly enough, our top three were not brand names. The first one was Momondo. It finds the lowest fares most consistently and the largest number of filters.”
