Unofficial details have emerged of World of Hyatt’s “Bonus Journeys” global promotion for Spring 2024 via a Flyertalk post.
While the promotion isn’t yet live on the Hyatt website, once it launches, you’ll be able to register and earn up to 28,000 World of Hyatt points on eligible stays in March and April 2024.
World of Hyatt’s Spring 2024 Bonus Journeys Promotion
Hyatt’s “Bonus Journeys” promotion for Spring 2024 is not yet active; however, unofficial details have emerged, and it should go live in the near future.
When the promotion launches, you’ll be able to register and then earn bonus World of Hyatt points on stays between March 1 and April 30, 2024, with the following structure:
- Earn 3,000 bonus World of Hyatt points for every three qualifying nights at all participating properties worldwide, up to 21,000 points
- Earn 1,000 bonus World of Hyatt points for every three qualifying nights at participating hotels in 18 destinations by paying with an eligible World of Hyatt co-branded credit card, up to 7,000 points
For the first part of the promotion, you can stay at hotels in all participating properties worldwide and earn bonus points for a total of 21 nights. Importantly, award nights should qualify for the upcoming promotion, including nights booked with a Free Night Award.
For the second part of the promotion, you’ll need to have a Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card or the Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card to be eligible. For every three eligible nights stayed in participating properties in 18 destinations across the world, you’ll get an extra 1,000 World of Hyatt points.
Hyatt properties in the following destinations should be eligible for bonus points with an eligible co-branded credit card in the upcoming Bonus Journeys promotion:
Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mainland China, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
Prior to your first eligible stay, you’ll have to register for the offer between February 22 and April 15, 2024, which just requires your World of Hyatt membership number. Registration is not yet open for the promotion.
Then, you’ll earn points for eligible stays with check-out dates between March 1 and April 30, 2024.
If you were to max out the offer, you could earn a maximum of 28,000 bonus World of Hyatt points with the upcoming “Bonus Journeys” promotion.
Stays booked prior to the promotion will be eligible, as long as you register in advance and the check-out dates fall in the eligible period.
It’s worth noting that this promotion isn’t quite as lucrative as some of the previous offers from Hyatt, and is nearly identical to the Fall 2023 Bonus Journeys promotion. However, if you have any upcoming stays this spring, there’s absolutely no harm in registering, since you can score some extra points for your efforts.
Boost Your World of Hyatt Balance
With the upcoming Bonus Journeys promotion, you’ll a fixed amount of 3,000 World of Hyatt points for every three qualifying nights stayed at eligible Hyatt properties during the promotional period, up to 21,000 points. This works out to an average of 1,000 bonus points per night.
Then, if you pay with an eligible World of Hyatt co-branded credit card, you can earn a further 1,000 bonus points for every three nights stayed, up to a total of 7,000 points. This works out to an average of 333 bonus points per night.
Therefore, you can earn an average of up to 1,333 bonus World of Hyatt points per night at eligible properties with this promotion, up to 28,000 points total.
Since the number of bonus points you can earn is fixed, you stand to benefit more from stays at less expensive properties than at more expensive properties.
Keep in mind that these bonus points are in addition to the regular number of points you’ll earn as a World of Hyatt member.
As a reminder, depending on your status, you can earn the following number of points for Hyatt stays on an ongoing basis:
- 5 base points per US dollar spent as a non-elite World of Hyatt member
- For elite members, there’s a multiplier depending on your status:
- Discoverist members will earn an extra 0.5 points per US dollar spent (10% bonus on eligible purchases)
- Explorist members will earn an extra 1 point per US dollar spent (20% bonus on eligible purchases)
- Globalist members will earn an extra 1.5 points per US dollar spent (30% bonus on eligible purchases)
- Paying with a Hyatt co-branded credit card, such as the World of Hyatt Credit Card or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, will net an additional 4 points per US dollar spent
That works out to up to 10.5 World of Hyatt points per US dollar spent at participating Hyatt properties for Globalists with a Hyatt co-branded credit card. At our current valuation of 1.5 cents per point (USD), you could also view this as a 15.75% return on the cost of your stay.
Of course, obtaining a Hyatt credit card requires some depth in the US credit card game, and Globalist status is mostly reached through organic hotel stays, making it rather difficult to earn.
It’s worth noting that there’s also an ongoing promotion with Hyatt and Etihad which can be stacked with this offer, at least for stays during the month of March.
